Two-factor authentication
Protect administrator access with codes from an authenticator app. Once your first authenticator is verified, a code is required after your password.
Add an authenticator
Use a name you will recognize, such as “Phone” or “Backup tablet”.
Scan this QR code with your authenticator app. On the same device, use the setup key below. Keep this screen private.

After enabling your first authenticator, add a second one on a separate device or secure authenticator account. Test it before you need it. The sign-in screen lets you choose either authenticator.
If you lose access
Use your backup authenticator to sign in. If all authenticators are unavailable, the Supabase project owner must independently verify your identity before resetting the lost factor in the project’s Authentication user settings. A password reset alone will not bypass two-factor protection.
Never send setup keys or authentication codes in chat or email.
